Monitoring and evaluation
Continuing observation of markets, research and financial activity.
Triggers and cadence
A continuing task needs a source or universe, a trigger, a cadence and a desired response. “Tell me when the company changes guidance” is more useful than an unbounded stream of headlines. Seer’s monitoring system keeps this configuration independent of an open conversation.
Saved research and activity
A saved research record retains the sources, calculation settings and agent version behind it. A pending financial task needs its own status and external references. A later session can then continue from recorded work rather than reconstructing it from the agent’s last message.
Evaluation layers
Forecast evaluation asks whether an estimate matched its defined outcome. Strategy evaluation adds sizing, portfolio limits and costs. Execution evaluation examines fills, delays and fees.
Historical backtests, prospective paper operation and live results answer different questions. Seer reports them separately, including unsuccessful and no-trade cases and the relevant baseline.
Task lifecycle
Changes create an identifiable configuration revision. Pausing future research, cancelling a computation and revoking trading authority have different effects. None automatically unwinds a filled trade. Outstanding orders and positions still need their normal management process.
Data quality and limits
A monitor also checks source freshness, coverage and recurring failures. Evaluation monitors compare new results with a fixed baseline as outcomes arrive. A breached limit can pause new decisions while existing orders and positions remain visible for management. Changing the trigger or model creates a new version of the task.
